What happens when the power supply's protection feature kicks in?

Seasonic power supplies are equipped with strong safety features to protect the unit and the system components attached to it against electronic failures. Over Temperature Protection

This protection feature monitors the operating temperature of the entire power supply and if it becomes too high it switches off the unit.
